Brisbanites are in for an extra-terrestrial adventure as leading entertainment discovery platform Fever prepares to launch Neighbourhood Earth - a family friendly, interactive and educational space exploration exhibition arriving at Brisbane's QueensPlaza this Saturday 5 November, 2022.
Neighbourhood Earth is an exciting and educational experience that lets visitors explore the solar system and our place within it, as well as celebrate the spacefaring journeys we've embarked on, and discover what's in store for humankind's future celestial missions.
Families, students and little future spacefarers alike will be delighted as they make their way through the hands-on exhibition, enjoying interactive and educational learning activities, and discovering all the fascinating elements of space exploration - from satellites and space shuttles to the solar system and beyond.
Among the fascinating artefacts sure to keep budding astronauts entertained is a full-size replica of a section of the International Space Station and a prototype Z-2 Spacesuit, designed to be worn on future missions to Mars.
What's more, a dazzling cinema projection show will take visitors on a stunning voyage to witness a double sunrise on Mercury; a lightning display on equatorial Venus; a vivid blue Martian sunset; and a captivating descent into Jupiter's Great Red Spot.
Developed in collaboration with integrated production company, Toto Creative, the US Space & Rocket Center and NASA's George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, Neighbourhood Earth has attracted over a million visitors around the world since its inception, originally launching at the US Space & Rocket Center and exhibiting in Sydney and Melbourne earlier this year.
Neighbourhood Earth will open for a limited season from Saturday 5 November, 2022 until Sunday 5 February, 2023 with extended operating hours during the school holidays. Tickets start at $15.
