Audible.com.au has announced the release of its thriller of 2018, Greenlight by Benjamin Stevenson. Greenlight is Australian fiction at its best, brought to life by multi-cast narration, scripted and performed exclusively for Audible. Fans of podcast Serial and Jane Harper's The Dry will love Greenlight, a thriller with a killer twist you won't see coming.
It follows journalist Jack Quick as he investigates the murder of Eliza Dacey in NSW's red-stained wine region. What seemed like an open and shut case is turned on its head by Jack's true-crime documentary, and when he discovers evidence that might ruin his career, Jack has to choose between fact and fiction, guilt and innocence, life and death.
Audible.com.au worked closely with Stevenson to adapt his book for audio, rewriting scenes to bring the mystery of Jack Quick's nail-biter killer to life, a reflection of Audible's commitment to investing in Australian talent and storytelling in order to deliver compelling audio experiences for its customers.
Country Manager of Audible.com.au, Leanne Cartwright-Bradford, says "We're incredibly excited to launch our first Australian Audible thriller of the year as we continue to elevate exceptional Australian stories to our community of voracious listeners.
"More than ever, Australians are turning to audiobooks as an immersive and easy way to fit more books into their busy lives, and we're confident listeners will be hooked from the moment they start this compelling nail biter, as we were."
Benjamin Stevenson, author of Greenlight, says "Greenlight plays with storytelling by mixing in television, podcast, and court-room transcripts – when Audible suggested these already scripted scenes could be brought to life with a multi-cast recording, I couldn't believe how perfect it was.
"Rupert the narrator has done a fantastic job bringing Jack Quick and the Greenlight story to life, through hauntingly brilliant audio."
