Tell Someone Who Cares by Rosemary Gattuso

Balancing the Ups and Downs of Caring for Someone You Love

Caring changes you. But it doesn't have to erase you. Caring for someone you love can be one of life's most meaningful roles " but it can also be overwhelming, confusing and emotionally exhausting.

You can love someone deeply, yet still feel completely trapped. It is one of the many emotional contradictions carers experience but rarely speak about.
As time, energy and identity gradually shift around someone else's needs, many carers struggle to find the language to explain what they are
experiencing. They are encouraged to "look after yourself", but the reality of caring is rarely that simple.

Tell Someone Who Cares offers practical, emotionally grounded support for people navigating this reality. Drawing on her professional expertise and
personal experience, Rosemary Gattuso helps readers better understand the emotional complexities of caring and why conflicting emotions can exist side
by side.

Through a clear, reflective strengths-based framework, practical tools and relatable scenarios, the book helps carers recognise early signs of overwhelm,
make sense of their emotional responses, and protect their sense of self while continuing to care for someone they love. It also offers valuable insight into
the emotional experience of the person receiving care, fostering greater understanding, compassion and connection within the caring relationship.

This is not a book of quick fixes or easy answers. It provides something many carers have never been given: language for their experience, practical
guidance, and reassurance that what they are feeling is valid.
