The new season of the gritty drama series starring Kevin Bacon will premiere only on Stan in 2020

In exciting news for Kevin Bacon fans, acclaimed Showtime® cop drama series City On A Hill is being renewed for a second season and will premiere only on Stan in 2020. The new season will be the latest addition to Stan's stellar Showtime content line-up which includes Russell Crowe limited series The Loudest Voice among other hit titles.

Starring Golden Globe® winner and Emmy® nominee Kevin Bacon (The Following) and Screen Actors Guild® award winner Aldis Hodge (Underground), the one-hour drama currently airs on Sundays at 3pm AEST, only on Stan, and will have its season one finale on August 18. City On A Hill is created and executive produced by Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler), with multiple Emmy winner Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street) serving as showrunner and executive producer.

Along with MacLean and Fontana, City On A Hill is executive produced by Jennifer Todd, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Michael Cuesta, Barry Levinson and consulting producer James Mangold. Kevin Bacon and Jorge Zamacona serve as co-executive producers.

The series is set in early 1990s Boston, rife with criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm. In this fictional account, assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Hodge) arrives from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armoured car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.
