Demetria Devonne Lovato ( lə-VAH-toh; born August 20, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. After appearing on the children's television series Barney & Friends as a child, she received her breakthrough role as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010).

Since signing with Hollywood Records, Lovato released her first studio album Don't Forget (2008) and was followed by five more albums: Here We Go Again (2009), Unbroken (2011), Demi (2013), Confident (2015) and Tell Me You Love Me (2017). Lovato earned seven top-twenty entries on the US Billboard Hot 100: "This Is Me", "Here We Go Again", "Skyscraper", "Give Your Heart a Break", "Heart Attack", "Cool for the Summer", and "Sorry Not Sorry". Of her television credits, Lovato starred as the titular character on Sonny with a Chance from 2009 to 2011; was featured as a judge and mentor on the American version of The X Factor in 2012 and 2013; and appeared as a recurring character on Glee. Her struggles with bipolar disorder, addiction, an eating disorder, and self-harm received significant media attention in the 2010s, in response to which she released the book Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year (2013) and a YouTube documentary about her life and career, titled Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated (2017).

Musically, Lovato is considered a pop, pop rock, and R&B artist. Lovato has received a number of accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award, 13 Teen Choice Awards, five People's Choice Awards, an ALMA Award, and a Latin American Music Award. Outside the entertainment industry, Lovato has been involved with several social and environmental causes since the launch of her career. In May 2013, she was cited for her dedication as a mentor to teens and young adults with mental health challenges at a National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day in Washington, D.C.. She has also become an advocate for the LGBT community. In 2014, she became the face for the Human Rights Campaign's Americans for Marriage Equality Campaign. In April 2016, Lovato was honored with the GLAAD Vanguard Award for her activism.

Tell Me You Love Me is the sixth studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on September 29, 2017 by Island, Safehouse and Hollywood Records. Primarily a pop record, the album also explores elements of R&B. Lovato described the album as having a more "soulful" side than her previous work, and named Christina Aguilera, Aretha Franklin and Kehlani as its major influences. Contributions to the album's production came from several producers, including David Massey, Oak Felder, Stint and John Hill.

Confident is the fifth studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on October 16, 2015, by Hollywood, Island and Safehouse Records. The album features guest appearances from Australian rapper Iggy Azalea and American rapper Sirah, while Lovato co-wrote most of the songs on the album and worked with writers and producers such as Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Steve Mac, Rami and Stargate, among others.

Looking to transition from her self-described "generic" third album Unbroken (2011), Lovato wanted to make her fourth album to "have songs that excited her". The album incorporates pop with elements of synthpop, and bubblegum pop. The album was recorded between 2012 and 2013, when Lovato served as a judge on the second season from the American version of The X Factor.

Unbroken is the third studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on September 20, 2011, by Hollywood Records. Lovato described the album as "more mature" and "a little more R&B/pop" than her previous material, citing Rihanna as the major influence. While some of the album's lyrical content was heavily influenced by Lovato's personal struggles, it also deals with lighter subjects, such as love, self empowerment, and having fun.

Here We Go Again

Here We Go Again is the second studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on July 21, 2009, through Hollywood Records. Unlike her previous album, Don't Forget (2008), Lovato did not collaborate with the Jonas Brothers, as she wanted to work with different people and give the album a personal approach. Lovato collaborated for the album with established songwriters and producers, such as E. Kidd Bogart, Gary Clark, Toby Gad, John Mayer, Jon McLaughlin, Lindy Robbins and John Fields, who produced her previous album Don't Forget. Lovato also collaborated with The Academy Is... lead singer William Beckett to write a song about a strained relationship with her father, which was originally set to appear on the album, but was later dropped. The song later appeared on her third album Unbroken (2011).

Don't Forget

Don't Forget is the debut studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on September 23, 2008 by Hollywood Records. Lovato started working on the album in September 2007, during the filming of the Disney Channel television film Camp Rock. Lovato co-wrote most of the songs with the American boy band the Jonas Brothers, who produced the album alongside record producer John Fields. The album also includes Kara DioGuardi, Jason Reeves and Rooney frontman Robert Schwartzman, who collabrated from the album. Don't Forget features a power pop sound and the lyrics deal with various teen topics.
