Modern skincare is as multi-layered as the serums and steps that define it, characterised by the ritualised pursuit of visible results. Yet the most important layer is deeper still: resolving root causes of problematic skin symptoms.
Developed by pharmacists, AyurScience is the first Australian brand to unite pharmaceutical science with Ayurvedic wisdom to treat both symptoms and root causes. At its core is the AyurActive™ Ingredient Complex, blending antioxidant rich Amla and calming Tulsi with multi-herbal botanicals to treat blemishes, congestion, pigmentation and dullness.
Ayurveda, meaning "life wisdom" is a holistic healing system that began over 5,000 year ago in the Indian subcontinent, particularly throughout the Himalayan region of present-day India and Nepal. It is believed to be the oldest surviving medical system in the world. Ayurveda views health as a state of balance between the mind, body and spirit. AyurScience stands at the intersection of heritage and innovation, guided by the Ayurveda system.
At the heart of the brand is the AyurScience Research Institute, a proprietary hub created to uphold the highest standards of clinical efficacy, herbal integrity and modern dermatological science. It is here that Ayurvedic philosophy is used to continually optimise efficacy through rigorous scientific processes led by pharmacists, practitioners and formulation experts. In an era where natural medicine is increasingly supported by global research, AyurScience leads with its own scientific structure, ensuring each formulation is grounded in botanical intelligence and elevated by evidence-based insight. From concept to creation, every product reflects a commitment to skin health that is both time honoured and future facing.
AyurActive™ is AyurScience's signature ingredient complex, a dual-herbal powerhouse that unites Amla (Indian Gooseberry) and Tulsi (Holy Basil), two of Ayurveda's most revered botanicals. The result is a skincare collection with botanical intelligence and scientific integrity, where pharmacy meets philosophy and respects both the wisdom of nature and the science within.

Review:
I've been using the AyurScience CLARITY Energising Mask for a few weeks now and I find the texture of the mask pleasantly thick, yet spreadable, with a clay-based base (kaolin and bentonite) that applies easily and then gently dries down without making my skin feel overly tight. According to the product information it's designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and target pigmented or dull skin using ingredients like amla, tulsi, saffron and white-ten® complex for their antioxidant and brightening benefits. After leaving it on for the recommended 5–10 minutes and rinsing off with a warm cloth, I really did notice subtly smoother skin and improved radiance, and a freshness that wasn't there before.
There was some minor dulling of age-spots, but as I've only used a few of times, I'm sure it will continue to improve. As with all skin care, I'd recommend patch testing for those on the sensitive side, as it includes ingredients like quartz and fragrance, but my "sensitive" skin found it non irritating. I do prefer a tub over sheets as it's easier to store and you can target specific areas more frequently if you like. I did enjoy my beautiful spa-like moments, and definitely see the benefits of long term use.
