Australia's First Fresh Party Sydney

Australia's First Fresh Party Sydney

14th April, 2007: 1:00pm, Hordern Pavilion, Sydney

In a groundbreaking catwalk spectacular, under 30's Winter wear with highlights from Spring '07 will be on show at Sydney's FRESH PARTY, including a revealing glimpse at underwear trends that will dominate the racks over the next twelve months.

In the lead up to Fashion Week 2007, Mambo, Kookai Lingerie, Fred Bracks and Le Specs are amongst the brands mashing it up to present the inaugural FRESH PARTY fashion show. FRESH PARTY is a not-for-profit event aimed at offering fresh entertainment experiences to under 30's. The inaugural FRESH PARTY features a fusion of hot music and dance acts, fashion elements and multi media experiences and kicks of at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on 14th April from 12.00noon to 4pm, with the main fashion event taking place at 1:00pm.

Key trends include: layering, fluoro, DIY craft corner accessories and unisex androgyny. Participating brands will join forces to create their catwalk looks - with some surprising combinations according to Stylist Dave Bonney.

Bonney, Fashion Director of Yen Magazine says: "The winter season is bursting into bloom! Vibrant colours and hypnotic all-over prints mix with old favourite jeans and oversized sportswear to make the mishmash of a nu-rave winter in Australia. From Mambo's dynamic techy yardage prints to Fred Bracks' cool nerd to the sexy boy style girl's underwear from Kookai - the looks will be carefully layered and loosely worn with the newest offerings from Nike footwear and Le Specs eyewear. Contemporary dancers will pop and lock and krump while DJ Seymour (Club Kooky) plays old and new sounds that have influenced this youth movement and some of Sydney's hottest models from Chic management will show how it works."

For the underwear element of the show, Kookai Product Developer Melissa Solly says, "2007 sees the boyfriend pant as the hottest new trend in knickers this year - the G string is dead! Kookai lingerie celebrates the idea of underwear being worn as outerwear. Think of a layered look with great print or block coloured tanks, bralets or bandeau tops with your favourite pant or skirt and unzipped hoodies or knits. Fresh Bold colours and graphic prints ensure that you keep it bright on the inside. Customise your own style with mix and match stripes, spots, prints and block colours across a diverse style set."

The fashion show is one of the key components within a program that incorporates the arts, lifestyle elements, music and youth culture. FRESH Party is an AER initiative and is backed by music and fashion industry heavy-weights Nova 96.9, Channel V, Mushroom Marketing and IMG Fashion, the global leader in the management and production of fashion weeks and designer fashion events. The event will establish a fresh concept in entertainment - aimed at offering 18-24 year-olds a new way to party.

The action on the fashion stage will be complemented by a thumping bassline from DJ Seymour, who is just one of the stellar line-up performing in the day. Headline acts TV Rock and Rogue Traders will be supported by Nova unsigned artists Angela's Dish and Paul Green.

There will be a photographer present on the day - images of the event will be available upon request.

FRESH PARTY tickets are $26 (including booking fee) and are on sale NOW from Ticketek (www.ticketek.com.au). All event details can be found at www.freshparty.com.au

The proceeds from FRESH PARTY ticket sales will go towards binge drinking prevention programs for youths building on the Fresh Party concept.
