In this month's NEXT magazine Aly is described as a self-starter with no record company backing her, who has crowd-funded both of her albums, with her latest album yielding five Top 20 singles thus far on the Australian Top 40 Country Tracks Chart including 2 number #1 Hits. Being a spirited humanitarian, Aly assisted with the setting up of APRA scholarships which has taken two Kiwi writers to a song writing seminar in Australia to work with top Australian country music writers. Her passion for causes has seen her volunteer her services to the -Uncle Jimmy Thumbs Up Program' working with indigenous children in Aboriginal communities and to writing the theme song for -Forever Changed' – a global awareness campaign for informed treatment choice in the fight against cancer.
Aly's nominationfor NEXT Woman of The Year has come as no surprise to those who have witnessed her passion, tenacity and sheer persistence.
Aly has expressed…. 'I am humbled and honoured to be amongst women of such calibre who are achieving so much in their fields and I am thrilled that a song that means so much to me, about a very special part of Australia that is close to my heart, is doing so well"
