Melbourne singer-songwriter, Alan Fletcher, continues his Americana journey with the release of his new studio album, "Back to School".
The new album not only further extends his exploration into the genre but broadens the landscape and again highlights Alan's exceptional songwriting and understanding of Americana music.
Stylistically, Alan's key influences such as John Prine, Kris Kristofferson and Rodney Cowell shine through - drawing inspiration from real life lessons, love and his well-known sense of humour.
Alan says, the album is mostly about love – needing it, finding it, losing it and getting it back.
"I've been a student of love all my life and believe learning how to love and maintain it is a lifetime's work. Greek philosopher Plato saw love as a classroom where it's a skill to be learnt not just an emotion felt".
The album is written by Alan Fletcher, Lachlan Bryan and Riley Catherall and produced by Lachlan Bryan and Damian Cafarella at Melbourne's End of the Road Studios.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Damian, he also played guitar, banjo, bass and drums. Riley contributed acoustic and electric guitars while Lachlan played piano, keyboard and mellotron.
"Back to School", is released today (Thurs 19th February 2026) through Ubersavvy Music/MGM Distribution.
