A new choral work inspired by one of Australia's best-loved World War II
poems will receive its world premiere alongside two timeless statements on
armed conflict at Sydney Opera House on 1 November.

Andrew Schultz's Beach Burial promises to be a highlight of War and Peace, a
poignant concert by Sydney Philharmonia Choirs that delves into the horror
and hardship of wars fought throughout history.

Schultz's specially commissioned work takes its name from Kenneth Slessoršs
classic poem of 1944, written as the poet served as a war correspondent with
the Australian army in the Middle East.
