As part of its Live in the Studio program, the Australian Centre for  the Moving Image (ACMI) presents a special event celebrating  television's most famous Time Lord, with Splendid Chaps: 50th  Anniversary Tribute to Doctor Who, on Thursday 21 November.
This  event will signal the spectacular end of the Splendid Chaps year-long  performance/podcast project, which has garnered the Chaps a following  around the world and seen them top the iTunes TV and film podcast  charts, while marking the 50th anniversary year of Doctor Who.  
Splendid  Chaps hosts Ben McKenzie, John Richards and Petra Elliott will be  joined at ACMI by house band The Time Lads, a stand-up Dalek and  surprises galore as they honour the 11th doctor, Matt Smith, and explore  all things Whovianism.
Taking a closer look at -the future' as  seen through 50 years of BBC time travel, the Chaps' final discussion of  the world's longest running sci-fi series is not to be missed.
Declared  'a smash hit" by Time Out, Splendid Chaps have been acclaimed by The  Sydney Morning Herald for their ability to 'combine analysis, enthusiasm  and irreverence" and lauded by The Age as 'part intellectual panel  discussion and part nerdy Tonight Show".
Live in the Studio is  held regularly at ACMI and sees a host of industry experts and  luminaries, academics, aficionados and pop-culture sovereigns get  together for a series of live talks, screenings and performances that  revel in TV past and present. Providing a hub for TV enthusiasts to  celebrate the finer points of the tube, Live in the Studio is the  perfect way to indulge a love of the small screen.
