Forced to abandon his veterinary studies, Jacob Jankowski finds himself working for a travelling circus. Despite the enchantment conjured each night by the circus' acts, Jacob senses more sinister dynamics in the backstage life of the troupe. Hal Holbrook lends understated poignancy to the role of the older Jacob.
