Inspired by Kubrick's Barry Lyndon, Feret brings a similarly lush, languid tone and keen love of music to his handsomely mounted drama. Set in 18th Century pre-revolutionary France and inspired by the life of 'Nannerl' Mozart, whose own prodigious musical talent was overshadowed by her more celebrated younger sibling.
