Robert Irwin's Age-Old 12th Birthday Party

Returning home from the USA, our very own fossil fanatic, Robert Irwin, will be at Australia Zoo to celebrate his 12th birthday with a prehistoric themed party on Tuesday 1st December, 2015.

Australia Zoo will open its gates free-of-charge to kids 14 years of age and under so that families can enjoy Robert's birthday with him, his sister Bindi and mum Terri who are looking forward to celebrating at home after Bindi's incredible Dancing with the Stars journey in LA.

There'll be so much to do and see, with Robert, Bindi and Terri feeding Australia Zoo's own modern-day dinosaurs – the crocodiles - LIVE in the Crocoseum, the team from Fried Mudd helping creative minds get their hands dirty, our resident dinosaur Bruce is also set to make an appearance, and kids can sing and dance along with Jurassic Joe as he entertains with his delightful dino songs.

The prehistoric party will feature dinosaur themed games and activities including a Palaeoart demonstration where you can help create a new species of Aussie dinosaur plus a screening of -Prehistoric Park' in the Crocoseum taking visitors back in time to the age of dinosaurs. Guests will also have the chance to meet a real Queensland Museum Palaeontologist who is full of facts about our awesome Australian dinosaurs!

Robert will be sharing his delicious birthday cake with guests who can watch on as he unveils his GIGANTIC surprise birthday present that's sure to impress.

There'll be face painting, pony rides, a colouring competition, and a free caricature artist to send you home with an everlasting memory of a day spent with Robert, his family, and all your favourite animals at Australia Zoo. Not only that, children will be able to get their hands dirty by helping us in an interactive workshop to create 'dino snot" – just be sure to bring a handkerchief!

Gates open early at 8am with a free sausage sizzle breakfast to kick-start the day and a major prize draw to finish it all off.
