Red Bull BC One returns to Sydney for the biggest breaking battle yet

Aussie B-Boys will battle it out for a chance to be crowned world's best

Red Bull BC One is excited to announce Sydney as its Australian Cypher location for the 2015 Asia Pacific qualifiers. Taking place on Friday, 17th July 2015, the Sydney Cypher will see B-Boys (breakdancers) from across the nation compete in heated dance battles as they vie to represent the country at the Asia Pacific Finals in Seoul this October.

Red Bull BC One operates with a series of over 90 cyphers throughout the world, leading to six exciting final rounds and climaxing in the big one - the World Final. At the Australian Cypher, competitors will go head-to-head in knock-out breaking battles one-on-one, showing the unrivalled style and technique that B-Boys are known for. Judges at each point of the global competition will compare B-Boys according to their artistic skills, choreography, innovation and character. The one-on-one battle format lets B-Boys show not only their mastery of the B-Boy essentials, such as the toprock, downrock, power moves and freeze, but also their overall style and individual expression.

Born on the streets of New York City over 40 years ago, breaking is an urban art-form that unites communities all over the globe. One of the four pillars of Hip Hop culture (along with DJing, MCing and Graffiti Art), over the years B-Boying has grown into a rich and vibrant scene, with active communities stretching across every corner of the globe. Each year, top dancers and crews continue to push the limits of breaking, evolving it into an art form unlike any other - but only the best will make it to the Red Bull BC One World Final.

Taking place in Rome this November, the Red Bull BC One World Final will see just 16 B-Boys earn the right to enter into an all-out battle on the Red Bull BC One stage, as they compete to become the undisputed B-Boy champion of the world.

Red Bull BC One was created in 2004 in Biel, Switzerland to find the world's best B-Boy. The competition has since traveled to Berlin, São Paulo, Johannesburg, Paris, New York City, Tokyo, Moscow and Rio de Janeiro.
