Mel Buttle – Welcome Aboard

Mel Buttle – Welcome Aboard

As my personal hero and décolletage mentor Deborah Hutton used to say: "Hi, I'm Mel Buttle and it's my pleasure to welcome you aboard.

If there's anything I can do to make you more comfortable today, keep it to yourself, I've got enough on my plate: a break-up, a huge year of international touring and working out how to co-parent a rescue dog with my ex-missus.

As a platinum frequent flyer, I can assure you there's nothing more glamourous than air travel. Except for being at home with your loving partner on the couch with nice Barossa Shiraz and a few episodes of The Barefoot Contessa.

In the cabin today, we've got anxiety and too many Red Rooster rolls for lunch. Up the back is panic about not having any kids yet."

Fresh from traversing India after being hand-picked for the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow, and scoring an ACTAA nomination for Best Female Presenter for her role as co-host on The Great Australian Bake Off with great mate Claire Hooper, Mel Buttle is back with a brand new hour of frank and hilarious stand up.

Mel has written for Josh Thomas' Please Like Me, Ronny Chieng: International Student and The Drum, alongside regular appearances on Channel 10's The Project and ABC's The Weekly with Charlie Pickering. After almost a decade in the game, Mel has garnered a reputation as one of Australia's sharpest comedic minds.

It's time to sit back and relax with Brisbane's favourite hometown hero of comedy. Stow away your loose items, keep your seatbelt buckled until the light goes off – and please, no smoking. Welcome aboard.
