It's 1937 and New York teenager Richard Samuels (Hairspray's Zac Efron) can't believe his luck when he scores a bit part in a Broadway production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar being adapted by a hot-shot young playwright named Orson Welles (newcomer Christian McKay, in a stand-out performance).
