Shane Acker teamed up with producers including Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Day Watch) in adapting his UCLA graduating short film project from 2005. The visually daring, dystopian feature-length animation features the voices of Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer and Burton collaborator Martin Landau.
