So far this year the 20th anniversary celebrations have taken fabric XX from their London home base to Barcelona and across Brazil, and they're now pleased to announce this December they head to Australia for the first time ever, inviting a cast of their closest family members for two very special XX showcases.
The tour commences in Melbourne on Friday 7th December where they will link up with Novel, a crew who have been a keystone of the city's nightlife landscape for almost a decade. The respected outfit have long pushed a strain of house and techno in line with the fabric musical identity.
The following day, the crew will head to Monkerai, New South Wales to be part of what's quickly becoming one the best electronic music festival in Australia: Subsonic Music Festival. An idyllic setting, elaborate stage production, high-class sound and exceptional booking policy have all helped put Subsonic Music Festival on the map over the last few years, and fabric XX is thrilled to be invited to host their own stage to close out this year's party.
Venturing out with a team of selectors who have always been close, Ricardo Villalobos famously shares a long and colourful history with fabric dating back to 2002, and is set to bring his mind-bending minimalist antics for a rare appearance on Australian soil. Craig Richards' relationship with fabric goes without saying, and as the face and musical guide of their London space, he is the perfect addition to the bill. A master of his own inimitable brand of melody-tinged techno, Mathew Jonson has been behind some of electronic music's biggest dancefloor anthems of the last decade, and prepares to showcase the same electric live performance he's delivered in Farringdon over the years. Fabric will also welcome Margaret Dygas, the Perlon artist with a penchant for trippy minimal and deep, dubby house cuts. Prior to her move to Berlin, Dygas cut her teeth as a DJ in the fabric booth, and has been coming back to play the EC1 spot regularly for the last 15 years. Bobby. has already had a massive year since joining the ranks officially, and will round out the bill in classy form. Ricardo Villalobos, Craig Richards, Mathew Jonson and Bobby. all join for the first night in Melbourne, with Margaret Dygas also set to join the party as fabric head into the wilderness to close out the weekend at Subsonic.
Tickets for both dates are available now.
