Leconfield announce ROB THOMAS and PETE MURRAY as headline acts for their latest vineyard concert:  A Day on the Green

Leconfield, one of Australia's premier wine producers, will again be hosting this year's 'A Day on the Green' concert featuring Rob Thomas and Pete Murray, at their McLaren Vale vineyard and cellar door. The event is being held on Sunday, 10 November and is expected to be a sell-out.

Thomas is an American singer/songwriter. He is best known for being the lead singer of internationally acclaimed rock band Matchbox Twenty. Thomas is also a solo artist, having produced chart-topping songs such as Lonely No More and Little Wonders. He is the winner of three Grammy Awards.

"To have a Grammy-award winning artist like Rob Thomas headlining A Day on the Green is really exciting. Rob is just 47 years old, but he has almost 30 years of experience in the music industry.  All that experience will no doubt make for an amazing show," Leconfield owner, Dr Hamilton said.

"Rob is currently in Australia to promote his fourth-solo album Chip Tooth Smile. Fans can expect to hear their favourite hits from Rob's three-decade long career, as well as some of the future-hits from his new album. Listening to Rob Thomas's iconic music at one of the most beautiful vineyards in Australia is without question a music-lover's opportunity of a life time."

Thomas will be accompanied by well-known Australian artists: Pete Murray, Russell Morris and Emily Wurramara. They will all play on November 10, with Thomas as the final act.

"Pete Murray has been at the top of the Australian music industry for decades. Whether it's Better Days, So Beautiful or Opportunity, Pete's songs are some of the most recognisable in the world," Dr Hamilton said.

"Russel Morris is an ARIA Hall of Famer with five decades worth of albums. Russel is an Australian music legend and with hundreds of songs under his belt, we're really excited to see him perform.

"Emily Wurramara is the up-and-comer of the group. At just 23-years old, Emily already has two albums and an ARIA award nomination. In ten years' time, you'll be able to boast about having seen Emily play at the very beginning of her career!  Experts of the music industry expect big things from Emily.

"The line-up of talent on display at this year's A Day on the Green is incredible.  Whether you're a fan of Murray, Thomas, Morris or Wurramara, I can guarantee that you've never seen them play at such a beautiful venue.  This is such a unique event that we're really excited for."

A Day on the Green will be played at Leconfield's vineyard at McLaren Vale, just outside of Adelaide.

"Our McLaren Vale vineyard is the perfect venue to listen to the genre of artists on show at this year's event. In addition, we will also feature an expansive array of foods and pop ups with gourmet delicacies as well a wonderful selection of Leconfield, Richard Hamilton and Syn wines," Dr Hamilton said.

"The best thing is that our McLaren Vale vineyard is located just 45 minutes south of Adelaide. People often have a misconception that vineyards are 'in the middle of nowhere'. Some are, but our McLaren Vale vineyard is perfectly placed for big events such as this upcoming concert. We have plenty of space and there are lots of areas for parking too.  There will also be plenty of buses bringing people into and out of the area. McLaren Vale is removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, whilst close enough to not be an inconvenience for ticketholders.

"Our McLaren Vale venue is the perfect place to experience the music of artists like Rob Thomas and Pete Murray. Not only will you be able to taste the highest quality wine in Australia, but also some of the highest quality music in the world!  It really is the perfect combination.

"Wine experts talk a lot about wine pairing and which wines go with which foods. But I think that the best wine pairing of all is: wine, music and a great venue!"

Tickets are now on sale for the November 10 event at McLaren Vale. Gates open at 2:30pm and Thomas is scheduled to perform at 7:30 – 9:00pm. Ticket prices range from $114.90 to $229.90. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster – a link can be found on the Leconfield website.
