In just over one month, the 16th Japanese Film Festival (JFF) opens in Melbourne with its biggest line-up yet. Boasting many titles that are now showing in Japan, with some yet to be released the JFF will screen at Hoyts Melbourne Central and ACMI Cinemas.

This year the JFF pays tribute to director Yasuzo Masumura who worked as a director for three decades helming 58 films in a variety of genres. The free heritage screenings of his work include Giants and Toys, Man of Biting Wind (aka Afraid to Die), With My Husband's Consent, The Hoodlum Soldier, Seisaku's Wife and The Red Angel.
