The world's oldest professional fashion model, Daphne Selfe, is fronting an inspirational campaign for eyewear and eye care retailer OPSM to celebrate the people that have both seen remarkable things and continue to lead dynamic and fulfilling lives.
Style At Every Age represents timeless style; a collection of images and video that features UK model Selfe, aged 86, alongside Australian fashion and culture icons, including journalist, TV personality and author Ita Buttrose, fashion designer Jenny Kee, photographer Gary Heery and surfing filmmaker and photographer Alby Falzon. All of these icons have been captured in a way that reflects on the amazing things that they have seen, as well as their great plans for the future.
Selfe is the ultimate proof that, when it comes to style, age is only a number. Even more successful now than she was as a model in her twenties, Selfe has been shot by Mario Testino for Dolce and Gabbana and has graced the pages of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Vanity Fair, just to name a few.
-Things have changed so much for the older generation. Now people are much fitter, more fashionable and have more wealth to do the things they wish as they advance in years. I believe that taking great care of myself has enabled me to continue with my career and be as successful as I have, and I believe that's why so many people past -retirement age' are living their lives with such great grace and gusto' comments Selfe.
Style At Every Age comes at a time where our ageing Australian population is increasingly embracing their style, but this change is rarely reflected in the fashion industry. Stewart Walton, Senior Buying Director for OPSM, explains:

The campaign's still imagery captures the essence of each individual personality, while the video piece reveals more about their enduring careers and change they've seen over the years. Ita Buttrose's changing attitude to style, Jenny Kee's memory of more creative and carefree decades past, Gary Heery's first days as a photographer the USA and Alby Falzon's continuing love for his work are all documented.
