Marvel Studios' Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination"particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn't fit in at school and sometimes even at home"that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she's always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right? Mehwish brings to life 'Aisha' in the series. Not much is known about her character yet, but as the series continues on, the audience will be introduced to their heartwarming story that is integral to Ms. Marvel.
Born in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, Mehwish was introduced to the entertainment industry at a very young age. Her mother Rukhsar Hayat, was a popular television actress during the 1980s and Mehwish spent her younger years growing up on set while her mother was working. She booked commercials as a kid and knew from there this was the career for her. In 2012, Mehwish lead the romantic drama series "Meray Qatil Meray Dildar," which marked a significant turning point in her career. From there she began taking acting more seriously and would go on to be in some of Pakistan's most celebrated film projects, including ACTOR IN LAW, PUNJAB NAHI JAUNGI, LOADED WEDDING, and CHHALAWA to name a few.
Wen Mehwish isn't acting, she loves to devote her time to her philanthropic efforts with various charities and organizations focusing on education for Pakistan, as well as the support of women in her home country. In 2019 Mehwish was appointed as an ambassador of UK-based international humanitarian global charity, Penny Appeal. She was later honored with an award from the United Nations for her work.
