THE ATHENA NETWORK, a unique business club and networking group for women, is set to launch in Sydney on 30 April 2009. Currently one of the largest womens business networks in the UK, Athena prides itself on doing business with inspiration, dedication and integrity.

“The Athena Network was founded to meet the demand of an increasing number of women who recognize that networking is essential for the growth of their business,” says Suzy Jacobs, National Director, The Athena Network. "With the economy on a downward turn, the old adage it is not what you know, but who you know has never been more prevalent.”

The Athena Network is on a mission to have women in business prosper. Teams across the world meet once a month for networking, business referral, business/personal development, motivation and inspiration, drawing on strengths and experience of all the members within the group for the prosperity of all its members. Only one representative from any given profession is invited to attend each meeting, allowing attendees exclusive reach to potential new business opportunities.

The first Athena meetings in Australia will be held in Sydneys north from May 2009 including North Sydney, Chatswood, Gordon, Manly and Ryde with many more locations to follow. The Network will roll out nationally throughout 2009 and 2010.

“Our groups will give businesswomen a chance to find new customers without cold calling or high pressure selling”, says Suzy. “We inspire and support women towards success. Our meetings are a dynamic, motivating, cost effective and enjoyable way to build your business."
Suzy discovered The Athena Network while living for the past seven years as an expat in London. Now back in Sydney, Suzy is keen to raise the Athena flag in Australia, by officially launching The Athena Network on April 30th, 2009. Jacqueline Rogers, the UK-based co-founder of The Athena Network will be a guest speaker.
