Interrogating masculinity, influence and self-help culture,I AM THE PRIZE, the provocative short written and directed by Sai Karan Talwar and starring Russell Tovey, is set to screen at both Frameline Film Festival and Raindance Film Festival as part of its 2026 festival run. The drama follows Anthony Selvon (Tovey), a charismatic but polarizing self-help figure whose carefully constructed image begins to unravel during a highly publicised lecture tour when details of his personal life are uncovered. Examining the line between empowerment and manipulation, the narrative delves into the complexities of male identity, the seductive power of self-help culture, and the emotional cost of living behind a curated persona.
"Anthony's journey serves as a metaphor for the ethical considerations faced by influential figures in the realm of self-help. Which is now a bigger industry than ever and hardly examined cinematically." - Sai Karan Talwar
