Fat Pat

One day, Fat Pat visited the vet for a check-up.
He was very good.
But the vet said 'That dog is too fat. That dog is a big pudgy pudden'.
Fat Pat looked around to the fat dog, but realised the vet was talking about him!

Everybody loves Fat Pat. He's cuddly, sweet-natured and ... fat! But when the vet calls him a pudgy pudden, Fat Pat is put on a diet. After a week of small dinners, no treats and lots of exercise, Fat Pat decided to run away....

Kilmeny Niland is an award-winning Australian artist and illustrator. She grew up in Sydney and studied art at the Julian Ashton Art School. She has worked in animation, children's books, wildlife art, miniatures, portraits, cards and prints. A born doodler, Kilmeny made the leap from making drawings in the margins of school books to making books as a keen to be involved in creating new worlds. "Whether the medium is coloured pencil, watercolour, pen and ink, oils or gouache, the greatest tool is always the imagination" says Kilmeny.

Review: Fat Pat is a loveable dog, but when the vet puts him on a diet and he gets no treats, he thinks his family doesn't love him and runs away. But the world is very different out there than he thinks, eventually finding his way home, Fat Pat realises how good he has it.
