This motion picture drama follows the story of the Chandler family, a working class family from Massachusetts. After Lee's older brother Joe (Kyle Chandler, Carol, The Wolf of Wall Street) suddenly passes away from a heart attack, Lee (Casey Affleck, Inter stellar, Ocean's Thirteen) is shocked to learn that he is made the sole carer of his nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel). With barely a moment to grieve, he uproots his life and reluctantly returns to the dreary fishing town of Manchester where a traumatic homecoming awaits.

Affleck paints the ultimate portrait of grief as Lee deals with the funeral arrangements on top of his newfound responsibilities.
