Celebrate  all things Bollywood at the Australian National Maritime Museum with an  amazing Indian inspired school holiday program this July inspired by  our new East of India exhibition.  Enjoy spectacular dance performances,  learn Bollywood style dance moves and even star in your very own music  video. Plus there's Indian block printing, henna tattoo designs and the  fascinating story behind the Indian trade in spices and saris.
Of  course there's all the museum's latest exhibitions Rescue, Elysium  Antarctic Visual Epic, East of India, as well as Ansel Adams' stunning  black and white photography. And don't miss our youth photography  workshop and a special family pirate cruise aboard the PS Black Swan for  all budding buccaneers.
Special School Holiday Events:
City to the Sea – Photography Workshops
Tuesday 9 July,  10 am – 1 pm or 2 – 5 pm
For ages – 8 – 14 years
Be  inspired by Ansel Adams' famous black and white landscape photography  in an adventurous photography workshop around Pyrmont and the museum. Go  on a photo chase across the site. Build skills in using digital SLR  cameras and learn photo-editing techniques. This course is held in  partnership with Spitting Image Photography. Suitable for all levels of  experience. Cost: $50 includes museum entry. Bookings essential.
Music Video Mix Ups - Bollywood
Wednesday 10 - Thursday 11 July, 10 am – 3 pm
For ages – 8 – 14 years
Do  you want to be the star of your very own film clip? Create your own  rocking music video inspired by Bollywood. Learn dance moves, acting to  camera, storyboarding, styling, filming and editing techniques with  professional directors and music video choreographers. Enjoy a special  premiere screening of your work on the big screen at the museum for  friends and family to see.  Cost: $220 (earlybird special until 21 June  $185).  Bookings essential 
Pirate Family Cruise – PS Black Swan
Thursday 11 July, 10 am – 12 pm
Avast me hearties, attention all scallywags and sea dogs - we're on the lookout for recruits
for  Pirate School! Join in all the swashbuckling fun and come aboard to  join our motley crew of buccaneers - if you dare - aboard the PS Black  Swan. Weigh anchor, hoist the mizzen,
splice the main brace, scrub  the decks, learn pirate-speak and sing pirate songs... maybe we'll even  find doubloons!  Come in your best pirate gear and don't forget to wear  an eye patch. Pirate food and drinks provided... booty if we're lucky!   All pirates should arrive at the Vampire Pontoon 30 minutes prior to the  event. Cost: $60 adult, $25 child, Families $150 includes refreshments.  *Family ticket includes 2 adults and 3 children. Bookings essential  
The Marketplace – Performance Program
Selected dates, 11 am, 12 noon & 1 pm
Join  us for captivating storytelling, music and dance performances – art  forms that traditionally took place in 18th and 19th century India – in  The Marketplace performance program, inspired by our exhibition East of  India. Free with museum entry. For program see the website – anmm.gov.au

Kids on Deck: Teacups, Trunks and Traders
Daily during school holidays 10 am – 4 pm (hourly sessions)
For ages 5 – 12 years
From  shipwrecks to spices and saris, take a journey into the fascinating  history of the British East India Company. Use block printing to create  your own exquisite fabric designs, paint Indian- inspired tile tea  coasters, or make mehndi (henna) designs. Learn about trading goods  through dress-ups and interactive games. Cost: Child $8.50. Members and  Big Ticket FREE. Adults general museum fees apply.
Cabinet of Curiosities: Shipwreck Secrets
Daily during school holidays 11 am – 12 noon & 2 – 3 pm
Explore  wonderful and curious shipwreck objects from our education collection  in this interactive discovery device in our galleries. Free with museum  entry.
